Corporal Punishment is necessary or compulsory?

Much of the discussion of corporal punishment is based on preconceived notions that this technique is either absolutely essential or intrinsically evil. This will take the position that there are both advantages and disadvantages to corporal punishment. In this documentation it has identified and discusses these strengths and weakness and encourages readers to use this analysis to make their own decisions regarding the use or non use of corporal punishment as a disciplinary technique. And how these corporal punishments encourage students to participate or enroll in the school.

Corporal or physical punishment is critical subject to be delt. Many theorist are in both sides, some say it is a disciplinary techniques some says it hamper the involvement of the students in the class and affect the psychological and mental aspects of the students. Parents' views refer to the feelings or attitude towards physical punishment to their children. Corporal punishments still exist or still in practice in some of the schools mostly in the community and government based schools. And this has direct and indirect effect on children either in their interest or willingness of attaining school or hindrance on their performance. The National Policy of Education 2076 talks that the school must provide free and enjoyable environment within or outside the school in order to make involvement of all level of the students or all categories of the children. Similarly, this provision has talked about the right to education to all children upto basic level this means their right should not be hinder by any sorts of violence inside the classroom where they can feel freedom and entertaining while learning means they should not have fear inside the classroom. In the child-friendly schools, these issues are addressed. If the child-friendly environment exists in the school, children can learn quickly and they will have less mental stress while reading and writing. In addition, the parents preconceived this notion as the technique either absolutely essential or intrinsically evil. Likewise, the National Framework of child-friendly school has proclaimed that the corporal or any physical punishment in the school is prohibited and we must respect all the students equally. In contrast, we can still see some of the schools practicing such punishment in the school in order to maintain discipline and to enhance quality education. And some parents seem against it whereas some favor this practice. Therefore, I want to carry out the research whether the parents want the physical punishment in the school or not if so how these all provision supports them directly or indirectly. Corporal report 2010 has listed many consequences of corporal punishment in the school among them one of the best examples is psychological disorder in the children. As report shows that many children dropped the school at their early age because they were afraid of their teachers especially with those teachers who punished them physically. This had made negative impact on the enrollment and the participation in the classroom a lot.
